Trimonium - Son Of A Blizzard Einheit Produktionen file under Black/pagan metal
Sir Blastalot: Trimonium releases their fourth album with ‘Son Of A Blizzard’, and the best so far! The Germans take a journey between melodic black metal and classical thrash metal, combined with atmospheric folky guitar passages, so that means some nice stuff! I have to add that it is not the most original thing that I have ever seen and heard, and they copied Dissection’s album art a bit too well, but anyway, at least they copied it good!
I got in touch with Trimonium only three years ago when they released ‘Blow The Horns’. And at the time I liked the album, but nothing more, so I did not expect much of this album, but with ‘Son Of A Blizzard’ these German fellows prove that they really know how to make some decent music! They play they their music in such a persuasive way, that it will make you buy this album almost instantly since this album does not bore at all. Especially the title track and ‘Waste Of Blood’! Melodic black metal passages varied with classical thrash riffs that contain enough of tempo changes, and as a matter of fact, it sounds a lot better than their previously released material. In fact, this music is best to be described as battle metal, it is a weird term maybe, but well…you would be better of listening to the album. If it is melodic black, thrash or pagan metal, this album will satisfy fans of all those genres anyway. Best tracks: ‘Son Of A Blizzard’ and ‘Waste Of Blood’.
