Tragik - Poetic Justice Escape Music file under hardrock / aor
Winston: Always nice and welcome I say! Heavy melodic hard rock is always invited to come and make rounds in my house. With Tragik’s first album ‘Poetic Jusice’ I received such an album for this month’s issue. Phil Vincent, singer and multi instrumentalist can be regarded as the veteran in this band; he released nine (!) solo albums until now. With drummer Dirk Phillips he already worked before and together with the young guitar player Damian D’Ercole they created this very enjoyable album.
Firm hard rock like Deep Purple, Dokken and (early and present) Europe use to make means that full attention is there for vocals, guitars and melody. With two guest musicians (David Zychek en Billy Roux) added some extra guitar variation is offered as well. As a whole this album really hits, entertains and challenges you. ‘Test Of Faith’ for example can’t be resisted to sing along to and this achievement is very well done by the band. Only down grader is the drum computer-like snaredrum sound that pops up here and there. Does that make it unenjoyable for me? No! A well deserved 89 for Tragik is given therefore.
