Wilco: In my opinion, Ydin is quite a ridiculous name for a metal act. On the other hand, that is not what I am supposed to write about, but still I can’t help thinking about a doubtful political leader in dark Africa, killing 300,000 people. But Finland does not look much like Oeganda, so I try to forget this.

The act mentioned serves us brutal deathmetal without any complicated elements. This is their second demo on which the sound is very good. The bands’ lyrics are all in Finnish so I have no idea what they are talking about. I guess it is not about the birds and the bees. The deathmetal played by the band is quite varied, as well as musically as vocally. Here and there you can here some melodies, catchy riffs and nice double bass passages. Innovative or original the band never is. Of course that is not a disaster, but this demo will never become an essential part of your deathmetal collection. On the other hand, the five recorded songs are not torture to listen to and the music is never boring. To the edition that I received the previous demo and two video’s are attached. I have not watched the videos, but the songs are quite bad. We can conclude that the act has made progression. The first demo was home to a song called ‘No. 1’. To complete that one, the song ‘No.1 (pt.2)’ was put on this demo. The demo is not bad, but it is not special enough to make a lot of new fans outside Finland.
