Massimo Izzizzari - Unstable Balance Lion Music file under prog / sympho metal
Winston: This is also a way to do it; an instrumental album by a young guitarist who doesn’t blister his fingers a hundred times within the hour but who simply lets himself go in very subtle and skilful way, without too much freaky ego-tripping. That’s my general opinion of Massimo Izzizzari’s album ‘Unstable Balance’.
With a more than often funky hook as base Izzizzari knows how to create a nice spectrum of melodies and guitar patterns. By offering room to both drums and bass guitar, played by (brothers?) Azeglio and Giuliano Izzizzari it all stays very enjoyable. The style lies in between Satriani, Edward van Halen and Greg Howe. Izzizzari is a session guitarist, playing for commercials and such and I guess he wanted to throw of that limited range and make an unlimited album. He succeeded very well in that and with a clear production the final verdict on this album is one word; enjoyable!
