Accomplice - She’s On Fire
MTR Entertainment Group

file under heavy / power metal

Accomplice - She’s On FireSjak: When in the accompanying letter notice is being made of the fact that a well-known singer is taking care of the vocals on the new record, this always causes some itching on my side. In most cases this singer is just used to gain a little extra publicity and the attention is distracted from the song material on offer. The well-known singer who takes care of the vocals on this ‘She’s On Fire’ of Accomplice is none other than Johnny Goeilli, known from Hardline and Axel Rudi Pell. Not the worst singer is the business, so to speak.

Accomplice is the band of guitarist and founder Sean Michael Glegg, who’s also responsible for the majority of the song material. They have already released an album on the Italian Adrenaline Records label in 2001, but I haven’t taken any notice of that record until now. Maybe I should change that and go looking for their debut album, because what I hear on ‘She’s On Fire’ is really to my liking. The songs are heavy with some progressive influences and the vocals of Johnny fit in nicely in the overall band sound. Best songs in my opinion are ‘Take Love’ and ‘Party’s Over’, coincidentally the first two tracks on the CD. The production could have been a bit better, because the overall sound is kinda thin. Especially the guitar parts could have been placed a little more upfront in the mix. Despite of this fact, ‘She’s On Fire’ is a pretty decent record, but also one who will fail to stand out in the many releases that are thrown at us every month.
