Mucupurulent - Bloodstained Blues Morbid Records file under death metal / grindcore
Erik: After a pause of a few years, the German cult band Mucupurulent shows up again with this ‘Bloodstained Blues’. The rock’n’roll death metal with a pinch of grind is easy going. Simple, to the point and with no nonsense, they swing into your miserable life.
Newer songs as ‘Lycantrope’, ‘Hell Is Here’ an ‘Evil Rejects’ are getting you so far that you show off your vilest dance moves. It is all very straight forward. The rhythm section does it’s thing, without any highly technical/musical highlights, and the guitar just follows. Well, sometimes the guitar solo’s surprise me! The vocals are very very deep, guttural and sound more like a belching boar than a human. They truly have reached back to their roots, but more professional and played in together. Thematically we talk movies (‘Leon’) and the usual gore’n’guts as in ‘St. Anus’ and ‘Menschenfeind’. Some songs have great samples mixed through them. In all, a very amusing CD not easily to get bored with, even if it’s not world’s most technical band.
