Erik: ‘Hellroad Caravan’ is the fourth album of this Finnish Mannhai, and the first with ex-Amorphis singer Pasi Koskinen. Not only does he join two other ex-members of Amorphis, he also leaves the death metal singing for a complete other genre: stoner. And he does it with style!

With this CD, Mannhai went back to its roots and they wanted to create another old fashioned heavy album which stands on the crossroads of Black Sabbath, Alice In Chains, Kyuss and less poppy sounding QOTSA.
And they did it, Mannhai as well as Pasi. The CD has a superb vibe and riffing. The very good job on the production by Jukka Varmo helps, as did the ‘Jive Studios’ in Helsinki. But the songs themselves are very strong. The long and chaotic desert sun enflamed ‘Better Hate Yesterday’ to the steaming rollercoaster ride of opener ‘Shellshock’ to the back to the seventies Hammond organ infused ‘Hall Of Dead’ do not fail to impress. A mighty album worth being in every stoner loving collection.
