Sirocco - An ThÌu Creath·n
Self-financed

file under heavy / power metal

Sirocco - An ThÌu Creath·nNima: Instrumental music; you either to like it or hate it. Although I must admit that I prefer vocals in music, I don’t mind hearing an instrumental piece from time to time. The “Problem” with instrumental albums is that the music has to be of such high quality to be able to keep the attention without becoming boring.

This young Irish band (the average age of the members is 16 years) plays instrumental heavy metal with thrash influences from a band like Megadeth combined with Celtic influences. The opening track ‘Nemed’ is a beautiful song with Maiden riffs and solo’s and almost immediately it becomes clear that there’s something missing: vocals. This is also the case with the rest of the songs. Listen to the thrashy song ‘Sacrostine’ and the beautiful ‘Christian Cry’ for example. These songs could also have been so much better with vocals. These guys have the ability to write good songs and know how to play, but because of the absence of vocals it becomes hard to stay focused till the end. But ‘Nemed: An ThÌu Creath·n’ is a good debut by this band and with a singer they can expect a bright future.
