Sadus - Out For Blood Mascot Records file under speed / thrash metal
Koen: Subsequent to ‘Illusions’ (Self financed vinyl album 1988), a.k.a. ‘Chemical Exposure’ (Roadrunner Records 1991), ‘Swallowed In Black’ (Roadrunner 1990), ‘A Vision Of Misery’ (Roadrunner 1992), ‘Elements Of Anger’ (Mascot Records 1997) and the compilation ‘Chronicles Of Chaos (Mascot, 1997), Sadus was on hold for quite a while. Sure there was a short European trip in 2002 and a re-release of both demos on the ‘DTP Demo 1986’ CD, which was proudly brought to us by Hammerheart Records, but bassist Steve Digiorgio was touring the globe and recording CD’s with acts such as Vintersorg, Death and Testament.
I’m glad Sadus is still alive and kickin’ because the newest output has become a fingerlickin’ good experimental thrash album. From ‘In The Name Of…’ until ‘Crazy’, Sadus takes you on a trip to mesmerizing bass playing, compelling forceful vocals, vigorous riffing and pounding drums. Here and there, some peculiar keyboard lines are involved in the muscular songs and this combination makes this album an obliged acquirement for all kinds of musicians, die-hard Sadus fans and every motherfucker out there who reads this editorial. I consider this month to be an expensive one with first-rate albums from Maroon, Drawn And Quartered, Scar Symmetry, Sick Of It All and Sadus!
