Hacride - Deviant Current Signal Listenable file under different metal
Richard G.: I would like to congratulate Textures with their new baby brother/ He is called Hacride and comes from France. Though they are not a carbon copy of the Dutch outfit, there are some striking similarities. Hacride has been strongly influenced by Meshuggah as well and also has a rather thrashy background. When they implement a saxophone in some songs and when that have a song called ‘Polarity’, not so subtly alluding to Textures’ last effort, the comparison is complete. Luckily there are enough differences to be found in the music of Hacride. In the first place, they don’t have the sublime atmospheric sound-scapes that Textures uses, they would rather throw in another anger-fuelled thrash part; secondly the rhythmic of their material is far less complicated that that of Textures (or Meshuggah, for that matter), some transitions can come unsuspected, but the songs in general are still written in a rather straight-forward time. All in all, Hacride is more accessible than their older brothers (of course we’re still not dealing with easy listening music here), and musically they definitely belong to the same league. Despite the striking similarities a good debut effort. Rating: 83/100 (details)
