Gizmachi - The Imbuing Sanctuary Records file under nu metal
Jordy: The New York bases band Gizmachi is the newest discovery of Shawn Crahan, the man we all know is Clown or #6 of Slipknot. Not only this is the first album he releases with his label Big Orange Clown Records (which is a part of Sanctuary Records). No, he also took care of the production, which means this is the first record he has ever produced. Adding these things together you can only conclude ‘The Imbuing’ is ‘the first time’ in many ways.
And a lot of people think back to ‘the first time’ as something that wasn’t as good as it should be, but I think Guzmachi and Crahan will like what it has become for them. ‘The Imbuing’ is a record that has got a tight production, especially when you think of the fact the producer is only at the beginning of his carreer. Also musically Gizmachi has done some good things. The sound on this record is pretty hard. ‘The Imburing’ sounds very heavy, but fortunately there’s no fake anger on it. But, one point the band should keep in mind: sometimes they lose track and things become a little chaotic. Chaos sometimes sounds good, but in this particular case it doesnt and it becomes a disadvantage for the band. But that’s something that can be improved in the future, as well productionally as musically.
‘The Imbuing’ isn’t a bad debut, as well for the band as for the new producer. It looks like Gizmachi and Crahan both know what they want and I guess they’ll be working together more often in the future. The last thing I’d like to say is that this band has been touring through the United States the past few months. And the simple question is: Which band was the headliner?!... Yeap, Slipknot... What a coincedence. Score 73/100 (details)
