Enertia - Force
Mausoleum Records

file under heavy / power metal

Enertia - ForceKoen: For over eight years, Albany (New York) based band Enertia brings the world a mixture of power, melody, groove and aggression. Enertia have released three albums (‘Momentum’, ‘Law Of Three’ and ‘Flashpoint’) in North America and have contributed to several samplers and tribute albums. Since the band was formed, they have played over 500 shows, mainly throughout the northeast of the United States of America. The new album is produced by famous producer Neil Kernon (Cannibal Corpse, Judas Priest, Queensryche, Nevermore…) and is released by Belgian record label Mausoleum.

This album is filled with American power and speed metal in the vein of Armored Saint, Anthrax (John Bush era), Cage, Annihilator, Flotsam and Jetsam and Metal Church (Mike Howe era). All basic elements for a classic album are here: a perfect sound, good musicianship, strong and dominant vocals, unmistakable melodies and nice artwork. It’s an album that has to grow on you, but after they have, they are the best. It does not get the maximum score, because it’s released fifteen years too late and because it’s a bit too long to hold my attention. I’m curious to know whether this album unchains a “new wave of melodic U.S. power metal”. I hope the band will tour Europe extensively, and that they will attract all those new and old farts who are into this kind of metal.
