Forefather - Ours Is The KingdomKasper: Forefather has been a promise in the underground for many years, after three earlier albums mainly through smaller labels or own releases the band now finally gets the change to distribute their music through a larger network. Forefather managed to find the perfect balance between traditional viking metal, heavy metal and black metal and combines all of this to one perfect style. The twelve songs on their last assault ‘Ours Is The Kingdom’ are all little masterpieces that are filled with great guitar riffs and epic keyboards combined with pounding drums and great vocals that one second sound extremely aggressive and the next beautifully clear. For fans of bands such as Falkenbach, Thyrfing or Enslaved I would definitely recommend them to check out Forefather. A good thing is also that all of the old albums will be made available as well through Karmageddon in the near future so that every Viking metal fan can complete his collection. An album that definitely needs more that one listen but is worth all the effort. All hail the Forefather!
