Coheed And Cambria - In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3

Coheed And Cambria - In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3Jordy: I very nearly couldn’t even have reviewed ‘In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3’ of Coheed And Cambria, because a short while ago this band stopped existing for a while. Devastated by all the intensive touring and probably tired of hanging out with the same guys every fucking day. This is what a lot of bands go through, and which caused a lot of bands to split up. The split-up of Coheed And Cambria was only temporary though, and now the band has recorded the follow-up for its debut album ‘The Second Stage Turbine Blade’.

And Jesus Christ, I’m very happy the band decided to stay together and to record a new album, because the result is a great album filled with melodies, drama and musical beauty. In the past many people labeled this band as ‘metalcore’, but that term completely fades when you listen to ‘In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3’. Coheed And Cambria has developed itself and now makes a great mix of hardcore with melodic elements, soaked in a more quit and less chaotic ambiance.

In the past other bands have gone through a huge musical evolution, which sometimes resulted in great things, but sometimes the result also sucked. The band Cave-In is a good example of a band that has undergone a transformation. This band was a great act once, but changed into a disappointing and uninteresting group of musicians (that is my personal opinion. No offence to the fans). Coheed And Cambria has evolved itself in a better way and produced a record with a lot of quality music.

Great lyrical content, dynamic melodies, great musical experiments and beautiful music. This sentence is a short description of what you can expect of the new record of Coheed And Cambria. Not often a band has been able to mix different musical elements in such a good way. Nothing but respect for what this band did. This album is a must have for the music lovers and collectors among us!
