Wilf: Vincent Crowley and Acheron need no introduction. Not mentioning the short ‘Sabbatical’ Acheron has written sixteen blood red years of satanic history, being the ultimate soundtrack to the Dark Lord. Dark spells and sounds are ever present on ‘Rebirth: Metamorphosing Into Godhood’. Halfway down the track list sir Crowley addresses us with a speech with his vision on the story of Christ so a CD-player with a programming option is mandatory for all who rather listen to the music instead.

The disc effectively lasts about forty-five minutes. Aforementioned speech called ‘A Long Time Ago’ is not the only track without electrical instruments. The last track presents nine minutes of eardrum-piercing glassy sounds.The more traditional tracks on the album take us back to the beginning of the nineties when Acheron was all about uncompromising metal without keys and too many intros on one disc. Of course this album sounds much more up to date and the layout is a piece of sick art as well. Although a lot may have happened on the (left hand) path to this album (like parting ways with the Church Of Satan) one thing remains clear: The atmosphere and beliefs stayed true.
