Abominator - Nuctemeron Descent
Osmose

file under death metal / grindcore

Abominator - Nuctemeron DescentDeborah: Together with Destroyer 666, Gospel Of The Horns. Hellspawn, and Sadistik Exekution they create the harsh, indestructible core of the extreme metal in Australia. Fast, cruel and raw is what we can expect from the Aussies. It is neither very good nor original what these guys have produced but it sounds raw and cruel nevertheless.

In 1997, the band began as a two-men formation consisting of Chris Volcano and Andrew Undertaker. Over time, Abominator has grown into a complete band with four members: Chris Volcano, Andrew Undertaker, Max Kriegen and Valak Exhumer. And, of course, between the two-men formation and the formation of what Abominator is now there were the necessary line-up changes.

In 1999, they released their first full-length album called ‘Damnations Prophecy’ followed by the second full-length album ‘Subversives For Lucifer’ that came out in 2001. And the releasing of their most recent album ‘Nuctemeron Descent’. The last two albums were released by Osmose and Necropolis Records released the first full-length album. This band fits the row of releases of Osmose perfectly. Most of the bands that signed a contract with Osmose have some of the same trademarks namely: extremity, speed and furiousness.

This music is missing some aspects. There is not enough variety and suspense in the music. This album is too predictable. Most of the songs have the same ingredients namely fast guitar work and riffs, pounding drums and not enough variety in the grunts. I miss the variation of the speed and the instruments. A nice try but it is not enough too come further than the category ‘it’s okay but not more than that’.
