Atwater: I’ve got good news for fans of Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Skinless and other US death metalbands . Sepsis’ first full-length assault hit me this month and the band delivered a real piece of brutal deathmetal that reminds me most of Skinless.

The vocals on this release are very varied, from deep and low grunts up until some grindcore noise with the occasional scream every now and then. These vocals fit the music very well. The guitar riffing and solos and are definitely influenced by Suffocation and Dying Fetus. ‘With No Mercy’ furthermore contains nine songs and lasts for a very interesting 35 minutes. The production sounds a bit mid-nineties to me, especially the way the drums sound, plastic and lacking the natural sound. Normally I would find this negative, but due to the way this entire record sounds, it takes me right back to the mid nineties, and I for one thoroughly enjoy such! Mission accomplished!
