Echo Us - The Tide DecidesWinston: Echo US is a band that released their debut album in 2005 only now presents a follow up ‘The Tide Decides’. And we have a peculiar one here folks. People like to think in structures and certain directions but this album seems to be ‘unboxable’. I’ll give it a try; when familiar, try to think of the younger Vangelis Papanathassiou, who experimented fiercely back in the 70’s before he discovered the commercial side of music, with the intensity of Pink Floyd and the madness of Peter Gabriel in his Genesis days. Shake that combination well, serve in a loud volume and then you realize that still some ingredients are unnamable.

In a movie-esque landscape ‘The Tide Decides’ travels you by, telling a tale of life. Singer Ethan Matthews enchants, leads and adds accents. Samples, harps and guitar in a dreamy soundscape. This album will win the title of most mysterious album of this year. A very special album by Echo Us, so give it a listen and don’t abort after the first try.
