Pim B.: In the meanwhile ‘o’Funeralia’ is the third effort of this Ukrainian duo. Colleagues Roel and Vera quite enjoyed their previous albums and I think Autumnia is a great band as well.
The melodic doom/death, which due to the slow pace borders to funeral doom, is put together really well. The melodies they use made me think of While Heaven Wept and because of the deep grunt and the fact we’re dealing with doom/death the name Mourning Beloveth popped up as well. Through the use of keyboards, clean vocals and violins here and there this act sounds refreshing. You cannot blame them of any form of plagiarism and within a genre that stylistically is quiet limited this says enough. I really enjoyed this album and I can only recommend it.
