Wilco: Sometimes it is quite unclear why some acts get picked up by a record label and other acts are not. This is another act, subject to this discussion; the American act Led To The Grave issues their debut album all by themselves. Acts that are far less interesting often are able to get a label to issue their poor material. This LTTG is not that exciting, but I have heard far more shitty metal on a label before.
LTTG’s music can be registered as energetic thrash metal the Ikea way with a thick death metal rim. But also acts like Dark Tranquillity and A Canorous Quintet cross my mind while listening to this album. The pace is high, but still there is enough variation, both musically and vocally. The songs contain enough breaks, pounding riffs, speed and aggression to stay interesting. Despite lacking a record deal, the sound of the album is quite ok, but it is too high pitched and the vocals need more power. Well, that is about all I can tell, except from the fact that I think these guys deserve a record deal.
