FuelBlooded - Promo 2002 (Demo) Self-financed Peter B.: Fuelblooded is the new name of one of the oldest Dutch underground bands; Sacramental Sachem. The change of name must have something to do with the different approach of the band and the line-up changes that have taken part since the release of S.Sachem’s last release “Anxiety” (end of 2001). More about all this in the October issue of Lords Of Metal, when I will bring you an interview with these guys!
So, now it’s time for the 4-track promo 2002 from Fuelblooded. The band didn’t only progress in its band-name, but also musically. The guitar-orientated approach became a bit more present in the new songs. While listening to the opening song “Poisonous” it’s clear that the band sounds more aggressive than they did before. The tempo is higher and vocal-wise there is a nice combination between grunt/scream and aggressive ‘normal’ vocals as well. The band certainly sounds “Swedish”. “Dissector Of Souls” is a bit slower, and heavier. The vocal-lines remind me a bit of Testament while the music has a certain Nevermore influence. Good song! I really like the song “Constructive Destruction”, which is particularly very strong because of the great vocal-lines! The fourth and last song of this promo “The Silence” only makes me hungry for more...
Fuelblooded is a step forward from where Sacremental Sachem ended. Singer Vital Welten (ex-goden) is really surprising me as a strong and convincing singer. The new drummer Norbert Moen gives the band a steady and tight foundation. Yes, Fuelblooded could very well be on its way up! Keep your eyes open for them!
