Dreamtide - Dream And Deliver
AOR Heaven

Dreamtide - Dream And DeliverSjak: We have had to wait about five years for it, but finally a follow-up record to the great second album ‘Dreams For The Daring’ has been released with this ‘Dream And Deliver’ record. Of course guitar player Helge Engelke and drummer CC Behrens have been very busy with the Fair Warning reunion, but that is not to say that Dreamtide has been out of sight for a long time. A little bit too long if you ask me, because I myself quite like the music that this band creates.

During those five years of hibernation they also have had to cope with a line-up change and the new kid on the block on bass guitar appears to be none other than old-time Francis Bucholz, yes…of Scorpions fame. This line-up change luckily didn’t have any influence on the music, because still the song material, which is still for the biggest part written by Helge Engelke, is just great. Melody is key with these gentlemen and that accounts for a number of fantastic songs. Especially both fast opening tracks ‘A Fool’s Crusade’ and ‘I Don’t Wanna Wait’ as well as the fantastic ‘Download A Dream’ can count on my appreciation, but also the other eleven songs are very worthwhile to listen to. With its fourteen tracks ‘Dream And Deliver’ is good for about seventy minutes of music and I must say that it didn’t bore me for one single moment. Vocalist Olaf Senkbeil is a great singer, whose voice fits in nicely with the material on offer here. This, combined with the nice playful guitar parts of mister Engelke, makes this record a very enjoyable listening experience and that’s what it’s all about, ain’t it? Great album!
