Anachronaeon - At The Last Human Spot In Me Dies (Re-release)
Stygian Crypt Productions

file under heavy / power metal

Anachronaeon - At The Last Human Spot In Me DiesFrank V.: A Swedish band that releases a re-issue through a Russian label, of course it is possible but it is remarkable for sure. The CD is originally recorded in 2004, and is released as demo CD at that time. Soon also ‘The New Dawn’ will be released and this will be tracks from 2005, so also no new songs on that one. But let us now concentrate on this ‘At The Last Human Spot In Me Dies’.

First thing that catches my attention is the typical Maiden guitar sound in de first track ‘Anachronaeon’, outside this the songs disappoints me. And some minutes later there is ‘The English Wizard’ also more Maiden riffs in this one, although the song changes after a short minute in a real death/ black metal track. In general we can say when the band is playing fast paced songs, then it is ok, but during the more relaxed parts it is mediocre. Singer Patrik Carlsson who also handles the bas, guitar and keyboard, is not the best singer the band could have. He sounds as a lesser version of Vintersorg. The production is not at the highest standards, but that you cannot expect from a demo re-release. All considered we can say it is an average CD nothing more nothing less.
