Fractal Universe - Sons of Ignorance (Engram of Decline)
FRACTAL UNIVERSE, Progressive Death Metal band from Nancy, France, signed a deal with Kolony Records for the release of its debut full-length album, 'Engram Of Decline', due in Spring 2017. Based on Nietzsche's 'Thus Spoke Zarathoustra', the 10-track concept album wishes to explore the history of human thought, by delivering nearly 60 minutes of finest Progressive Death Metal. 'Engram Of Decline' also features 2 mind blowing guest appearance by saxophonist Jørgen Munkeby (Shining) and guitarist Michael Keene (The Faceless).
Commented the band: "Sons of Ignorance: This song is about the birth of consciousness. The man, with a metaphorical "third eye", get the ability to conceive the world conceptually. Thus, he will build the world from his subjective perspective. The dreamy vibes of the opener are swept away by Sons of Ignorance's crushing grooves. With its catchy riffs and choruses, this is undoubtedly one of the album's hits."
FRACTAL UNIVERSE was founded in 2014. The band released its first EP, 'Boundaries of Reality', in February 2015, which Nocleansigning.com called "a very diverse and interesting take on progressive death metal. It’s fairly groovy, frequently atmospheric, yet always massively heavy and loaded with killer riffs and leads”. The EP also made the site's critically acclaimed Best of 2015 list.
In support of their EP, FRACTAL UNIVERSE kicked off their 2015 'Boundaries of Reality Tour' in February of the same year, performing about 40 shows, though 5 European countries, opening for bands such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Exodus and Monuments, and performing on the Motocultor Festival's mainstage.
At the end of 2015, the band released its first music video for the track 'Tears of Misanthropy'. Soon after, in February of 2016, a deluxe version of 'Boundaries of Reality' was released, containing 2 brand new tracks, as well as a companion music video for the track, 'At the Dusk of a Soul', which premiered on Blanktv.com. In Summer 2016, FRACTAL UNIVERSE re-entered the studio and recorded their first full-length album, 'Engram Of Decline'.
