Dutch death thrashers IZEGRIM have entered Soundlodge Studio (GOD DETHRONED, SINISTER,..), the German-based recording studio owned by Jörg Uken, to begin tracking the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Congress Of The Insane’ scheduled for an early 2016 release. The cover art will be designed by Björn Gooßes from Killustrations design studio (DEW-SCENTED, HACKNEYED,..).
Guitarist Jeroen Wechgelaer had the following to say: “this album will be a logical follow-up to ‘Congress Of The Insane’. This time around, we’re taking the villain’s point of view. It’s going to be intense, catchy and furious. We can’t wait to release this beast!”
‘Congress Of The Insane’ was released on September 15 2013 via Listenable Records. The album contains 11 songs, including "Manifest Of A Megalomaniac", which features a guest appearance by Sabina Classen from HOLY MOSES.

ROTOSOUND believe a guitar or bass that is looked after well will give a lifetime of musical enjoyment. So to help players clean and condition instruments they have created, for the first time, a new range of quality care products. The range includes guitar polish, string lube and lemon oil, all of which are quick and easy to use.
-Guitar Polish (GP4) RRP £6.50 – The polish is specially formulated to keep stringed instruments in tip-top condition. Its cleaning action reduces fingerprinting, streaking, dust and grime in seconds, restoring an instrument’s shine and lustre. The polish continues to work after application protecting guitars and basses from dust build up, helping to keeping them in pristine condition.
-String Cleaner Lube (SC2) RRP £5.95 – This silicone based lubricant aids friction reduction as well as helping to prolongs string life and the brightness of the string tone. Used correctly it can speed up playing, make sliding effortless and pull offs easier, as well as improve fretting accuracy. String cleaner lube can help make strings smoother, increasing fluidity of playing.
-Lemon Oil (LO2) RRP £5.95 – Lemon oil is a natural cleaner and conditioner that will keep the fret board of prized guitars and basses looking fresh and playing at their best. Made from the finest ingredients it helps remove dirt, grease and wax build up on instruments and combat the drying and cracking of the wood. All the care products come in compact bottles, making them convenient to carry in instrument cases. To find out more about these and all other Rotosound Products please go to the RotoSound website.
Reactivated ACID REIGN on July 17 released "Plan Of The Damned", their first single in 25 years. ACID REIGN will be announcing a classic back-catalogue tour in the near future, although "Plan Of The Damned" will definitely be included, that will keep the band busy until late 2016.
SLAYER's Kerry King told Illinois Entertainer that he wrote the song "Chasing Death", from the band's upcoming "Repentless" album, after his longtime guitar tech, Armand Crump, overdosed and died in 2012. The track was penned partly in an effort to save fellow SLAYER co-founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman from alcoholism. "There were some wake-up calls in there," King said. "You know, we were trying to get Jeff on board. And he had literally cheated death when he had that arm injury. I don't think people know it was as bad as it was, but the doctor told him when he went in to work on him, 'First, I'm going to try to save your life.' We didn't know if he was going to live. And Jeff, he just... he got out of the hospital, and he lived clean for a while. I'm, like, 'Dude, you just cheated death. You got another shot at doing this all over again. Let's fucking get you back on board, playing some shows.' I knew when Jeff went into the hospital that last time, I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was that bad. Nobody expected that call ... I didn't know if he was ever going to come out of that particular episode, but I didn't think it was going to be that quick. You can't make an addicted person get better if they don't want to. We did everything we were supposed to do, but that kind of personality, man. If they're not strong enough to outwit it, then it's gonna happen how it happened."

AC/DC's song "What Do You Do For Money Honey", from the band's 1980 album "Back in Black", is featured in the trailer for Kristen Wiig and Zach Galifianakis's new movie "Masterminds" (starting around the 1:40 mark below). The film is due in theaters on October 9. The official synopsis for the movie: "In this action comedy based on true events, directed by Jared Hess ('Napoleon Dynamite'; 'Nacho Libre'), David Ghantt (Zach Galifianakis) discovers the true meaning of adventure far beyond his wildest dreams. He is an uncomplicated man stuck in a monotonous life. Day in and day out he drives an armored vehicle, transporting millions of other people’s money with no escape in sight. The only glimmer of excitement is his flirtatious work crush Kelly Campbell (Kristen Wiig) who soon lures him into the scheme of a lifetime. "Along with a group of half-brained criminals led by Steve Chambers (Owen Wilson) and an absurdly faulted heist plan, David manages the impossible and makes off with $17 million in cash…only problem is he foolishly hands the money over to this wild group of double crossers and has been set up to take the fall. With the bandits blowing the millions on lavish and ridiculous luxuries, they leave behind a glaring trail of evidence. Now on the lam and in over his head, David must dodge the authorities, evade a hilarious hit man, Mike McKinney (Jason Sudeikis), and try to turn the tables on the ones he trusted most." AC/DC has famously been reluctant to license its music for advertising, although the band appears to have softened its attitude toward the practice. In 2011, AC/DC allowed the opening riff to its "Back In Black" song to be used in a commercial for Walmart, three years after making its "Black Ice" album available for sale in the U.S. exclusively at Walmart stores. "They have a purist approach," Steve Barnett, the chairman of Columbia Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, told The New York Times. (He also managed the band from 1982 to 1994.) "Their instinct was always to do the right thing for fans, think long term and not be influenced by financial rewards." AC/DC has had its music featured in several movies, going back to 1986 with the release of "Who Made Who", the soundtrack to the Stephen King film "Maximum Overdrive". In 2010, the band came far closer to releasing a "proper" greatest-hits album with the arrival of the "Iron Man 2" soundtrack, featuring 15 songs that were an almost even split between the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras of the iconic hard rock group.
JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill has told Gannett Wisconsin Media in a new interview that the band has no plans of stopping anytime soon. "I think what keeps us going is the love of the game. We all love what we do. It's something, when I look back, there's a sense of pride that I've been able to do it all of these years. We're going to do it as much while we can. You might think, 'Okay, I might retire, I've had enough of this.' In fact, you feel like that after every tour and then after a couple of months, you're ready to get back at it again. You get those itchy fingers again.

Singer Jill Janus has revealed to Revolver magazine that she was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. She said: "During the process of writing and recording our third album, I began to feel like something bad was growing within me. When we were on tour with AMON AMARTH, I started to bleed heavily between my periods. I had a procedure, and my doctor found early stages of cancer in my uterus. I will have a hysterectomy in June. I know I'll survive. I've survived much worse."
Janus also spoke about her lifelong battle with mental illness: "I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder first, when I was 20. I started to show signs of it when I was 13, though, and I struggled with it through high school. But it started to get dangerous in my early teens. By the time I was 20 and living in Manhattan, it was very, very difficult for me. That's when I was admitted into a mental health facility and was diagnosed bipolar with schizoaffective disorder, which progressed into schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder."
