LORDS OF METAL streams "Stokely Up Now" - A brandnew track from the upcoming album by desert rock legend BRANT BJORK and the Low Desert Punk Band! No one can fool this man anymore: As a cult figure of the Palm Desert scene, as founder and drummer of the unfortunately no longer active Stoner-Rock legends Kyuss and a permanent member of Vista Chino (formerly KYUSS Lives!), the formation around Kyuss colleague John Garcia, Brant Bjork is washed with all (musical) waters. Now he is sailing under his own flag and proves once again that his multi-instrumental skills know no creative boundaries. With his excellent occupied Low Desert Punk Band, Bjork lets the scorching heat of Nevada shimmer in his songs. He also scrubs his guitar through all sorts of psychedelic effect pedals and skillfully mixes Stoner Rock, Blues and Doom-bonds to a feverish hazy brew. The Desert Rock Band has reached their oasis. "Black Flower Power" - the new album by BRANT BJORK coming out November 14th on Napalm Records! More info can be found on the Brant Bjork website, the Napalm Records website and
Napalm Records Facebook.

Lords of Metal proudly congratulates the good people of Indonesia with the inauguration of their new president, mister Joko Widodo, casually known as “Jokowi”. Jokowi is a man that has earned his feathers in local politics, coming from a very poor family, making it to the highest seat of his country, which is nothing more than suitable for a former furniture trader. If you would check out Jokowi’s record collection, you will find the likes of Napalm Death, Metallica, Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. Mister Widodo, we would love to sit down with you and discuss your record collection with you.

A new level of business quality: for the first time, Musikmesse in Frankfurt from 15 to 18 April 2015 will offer a B2B area reserved exclusively for registered trade visitors. Centrally located in Hall 4.1, this special area will permit the concentration of discussions with sales, marketing and suppliers in one place and in a quiet atmosphere. Exhibitors can book exhibition space in the B2B area in addition to their exhibition stand in the product halls or for use as a separate office at the fair. Thanks to the closed stand design, low-key branding and no loud product demonstrations, all concerned will find the optimum environment for constructive discussions. Also contributing to the business-friendly ambience in the B2B area will be a large reception counter with Musikmesse hostesses and a stylish catering area. Musikmesse is the International Trade Fair for Musical Instruments, Sheet Music, Music Production and Music Business Connections. The spectrum of products on show covers every musical need from classical instruments, guitars and basses, wind instruments and percussion to electronic equipment, as well as hardware and software. At the last Musikmesse, 1,318 exhibitors from 51 countries made presentations at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. Buyers from all channels of distribution can make contact with international customers and suppliers and network efficiently at Musikmesse. Musicians and music lovers have the chance to test the latest products and attend workshops, product demonstrations and concerts by well-known artists. Additionally, the range of complementary events includes awards ceremonies, seminars and lectures for basic and advanced training, as well as programmes designed to promote music making among young people and children. In 2014, 65,362 visitors from 142 countries attended the fair.

According to The St. Petersburg Times, 18 CANNIBAL CORPSE fans were arrested in St. Petersburg, Russia on Sunday as they were protesting against the last-minute cancelation of the band's concert at the Kosmonavt music club. The event organizer claimed the show was called off due to "technical reasons," but the fans believed it was related to complaints by Dmitry Tsorionov, the head of "God's Will," a Russian Orthodox social movement, about CANNIBAL CORPSE's lyrics, which Tsorionov claims violate Russia's anti-blasphemy law. Tsorionov (who sometimes goes by Dmitry Enteo) said believers condemned the band's lyrics, which promote "religious hatred" and describe in detail rape and murder of children. In July 2013, Russia passed a new anti-blasphemy law introducing fines and possible prison sentences for offending the "feelings of religious believers."

Rob Zombie has drawn complaints for a section of his haunted house in Illinois devoted to serial killer John Wayne Gacy, with one of Gacy's prosecutors saying it's "in terrible taste." Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare in the Chicago suburb of Villa Park features three rooms dedicated to serial killers Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy. In the "Gacy room," an actor dressed as Gacy sits in his famous clown costume, blowing up balloons, while two ghoulish dolls dressed as Boy Scouts sit on the couch. "I find it to be in terrible taste," attorney Terry Sullivan, who helped prosecute Gacy in the 1970s, told The Daily Herald. Known as the Killer Clown, Gacy was convicted of the sexual assault and murder of a 33 teenage boys and young men in a series of killings committed between 1972 and 1978 in Chicago. All of Gacy's known murders were committed inside his Norwood Park home; his victims would typically be lured to this address by force or deceptiveness and all but one victim was murdered by either asphyxiation or strangulation with a tourniquet (his first victim was stabbed to death). Gacy was convicted and sentenced to death on March 13, 1980, and executed by lethal injection on May 10, 1994. "The kids killed were from the Northwest suburbs and Northwest side of Chicago, not too far at all from the haunted house. It's a little too close to home and might open some old wounds. Not enough time has passed," Robert Egan, another former prosecutor on the case, told The Daily Herald. "I don't argue with Rob Zombie's right to do what he's doing. But it's a shame that what he's doing is causing the victims' families pain". "The Gacy room is funny," Zombie told the Chicago Tribune. "Last year what it was was these little dead kids lying around and John Wayne Gacy is sitting in the chair folding balloon animals for you. There probably will be backlash," he added. "There was last year in California. They didn't like the Manson one because that was a California issue... This is the home of all serial killers — the Midwest. So they'll hate everything, I guess". Steve Kopelman, who produced the haunted house with Zombie, told People about the Gacy room: "It's tasteless and offensive, but it's art." He went on to call the haunted house "immersive theater," and added, "Some art is tasteless and offensive."

Season Of Mist has announced the signing of legendary death metal band HATE ETERNAL. Helmed by founder, guitarist and vocalist, primary songwriter as well as acclaimed producer Erik Rutan, HATE ETERNAL has been one of the leading death metal acts worldwide for over eighteen years. The band's five full-length albums are considered crucial genre touchstones, and HATE ETERNAL is a proven headliner across five continents.

Former PANTERA and current DOWN frontman Philip Anselmo has been forced to push back the release date of his long-awaited autobiography because he hasn't had time to work on the book while taking part in touring activities with DOWN and his solo band, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS. It was announced back in May that Simon & Schuster's Gallery Books imprint had set a January 13, 2015 release date for "Mouth For War: Pantera And Beyond". writer Corey Mitchell is co-authoring the book, which is described as "a no-holds-barred look inside of Philip's brain, his history with PANTERA, the loss of his best friend, Dimebag Darrell, and an unflinching examination into the downward spiral of pain and drug addiction that nearly cost him his life".

CARCASS will issue a collection of previously unreleased and hard-to-find tracks, entitled ‘Surgical Remission / Surplus Steel’, on November 14 via Nuclear Blast Records. All the songs on the EP were recorded during the ‘Surgical Steel’ sessions. The video for the song ‘The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills’ can be viewed here:

EXODUS send their deepest sympathy to the loved ones of their fan Gustavo Molina, who died of cardiac arrest shortly after the band's show in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 9. EXODUS was informed of the tragic incident, which occurred after the Buenos Aires concert, by the show's promoter. The promoter conveyed to the band that towards the end of the gig, a young man collapsed and lost consciousness. He was brought outside and was treated at the ambulance's car, but, despite CPR and heart injections, passed away at the ambulance. The members of EXODUS wish to express their thoughts to the family at this difficult time. Gustavo Molina, who was around 25 years old, reportedly played bass for the Argentinian thrash metal band KRONOS.

Former DIVINE HERESY members Tommy Vext and Tim Yeung have reunited in WESTFIELD MASSACRE, a brand new band also featuring guitarists Bill Hudson and Rick Di Marco. Former IN THIS MOMENT and SCAR THE MARTYR bassist Kyle Konkiel helped out during the pre-production process for WESTFIELD MASSACRE's debut album but is not a member of the band.
* Tommy Vext (VEXT, DIVINE HERESY, SNOT) - Vocals
* Rick Di Marco (DEATH DIVISION) - Guitar
Due to his involvement with WESTFIELD MASSACRE, Vext has decided to step down from the reunited SNOT and will not take part in that band's upcoming "Get Some" tour. He tells Metal Injection: "The decision step down from SNOT was mutual and ultimately the result of scheduling conflicts. While SNOT is on their U.S. tour, WESTFIELD MASSACRE will be in pre-production for our full-length at Echelon Studios in Burbank, California”.

Jesse Leach of KILLSWITCH & GAYS has revealed that the band has commenced the songwriting process for its next studio album, tentatively due next year. In the latest video update on his official web site, Leach states (see video below): "We're starting to demo, starting to get some ideas for the new record. We're starting to have that discussion, which is exciting. But that'll be awhile, probably not 'till late this year, early next year when we start reviewing some of that stuff. So that's something that's definitely in the works". Leach also hinted that KILLSWITCH & GAYS’ Halloween (October 31) show at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts will be professionally filmed, presumably for future release.

A brand new SLIPKNOT song called "Sarcastrophe" can be streamed at this location. The track is taken from the band's fifth album, ".5: The Gray Chapter", which will arrive on October 21 via Roadrunner. The new CD — the first by SLIPKNOT since the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray and the late 2013 firing of drummer Joey Jordison — was produced by Greg Fidelman (METALLICA, SLAYER) and mixed by Joe Barresi (TOOL, SOUNDGARDEN, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE).

Vocalist Nick Tart has quit DIAMOND HEAD, admitting that he made it difficult to work with the rest of the band by "moving to the other side of the world" to Brisbane, Australia. He said in a statement: "After 11 years of being the singer for DIAMOND HEAD, I now feel it's time for me to move on. As most are aware, DIAMOND HEAD have already started the October tour with a replacement singer (Danish vocalist Rasmus Bom Andersen, who lives in London) and I wish them nothing but the very best. I haven't heard the new guy yet, but I'm sure he will be great; Brian (Tatler, guitar) has good quality control over DIAMOND HEAD and I don't believe he would continue touring unless he had found a singer who could pull it off. They are a very powerful band to front, so the best of luck to him. No doubt I will be snooping into YouTube to see what they sound like”.

ARCHGOAT is about to release its new album, "The Apocalyptic Triumphator".

IN THIS MOMENT will release their new album, ‘Black Widow’, on November 17 via the band’s new label home, Atlantic Records. The new single, ‘Sick Like Me’, can be streamed at this location.

BLOODBATH recently recruited PARADISE LOST's Nick Holmes as its new lead singer. The band will release its new album, ‘Grand Morbid Funeral’, on November 17 via Peaceville Records. The official lyric video for the song ‘Famine Of God's Word’ can be viewed here:

IN FLAMES will film a new concert DVD/Blu-ray on November 6 at Hovet in Stockholm and November 7 at Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden. An early 2015 release is expected.

Marcus Henderson has been locked up in a Silicon Valley bunker recreating the greatest guitar music of all time. You’ve undoubtedly heard his work for the Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Karaoke Revolution Party video games. Now, for the first time ever, he is coming clean with his own solo album. He is releasing the first six tracks, one at a time, eight weeks apart that will ultimately culminate with the full album release and bonus tracks in the Summer of 2015.
I was trying to think of the very first spark, the catalyst that delivers the message to you, you know?”,Henderson states about his musical interest. “I think the earliest possible instances where it hit me, was hearing Boston’s “More Than A Feeling”..."But for me, it was something about the sound of that distortion, that wavelength that just connected with me so instantaneously”.
On his connection with Guitar Hero: “I had known a friend of one of the engineers at Wavegroup Sound, the Oscar nominated studio responsible for the music behind some of the biggest music games ever created. I was introduced to him at a party and was asked if I was open to possibly coming in sometime to track some metal guitar for them on a variety of applications. I came in, signed the nondisclosure agreement and was tasked with pounding out “Symphony of Destruction” by Megadeth as my first tune for an E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) build of a game called Guitar Hero. After that they kept giving me harder and harder songs until I somehow ended up doing 20 of the 30 tracks for the first game!

OBITUARY will release its new album, ‘Inked In Blood’, on October 28 via the band's new label home Relapse Records. The album’s title track is available for streaming at this location.

CAVALERA CONSPIRACY – the band led by brothers and founding SEPULTURA members Max and Igor Cavalera – will release its new album, ‘Pandemonium’, on November 3 via Napalm Records. The song ‘Babylonian Pandemonium’, can be streamed at this location.

ENSLAVED are currently in the studio recording their thirteenth full-length album and offer fans this latest update:
As always, it is hard to formulate an exact direction ENSLAVED is or is not heading in with the new album. This duality is part of the essence of the band: The ability to maintain consistency and a strong identity and, at the same time, surprise both the oldest fans and even ourselves with new musical directions. The new material is darker and rawer, more aggressive and direct, yet continues the exploration deeper into progressive, softer, and more melodic territories with at times complex song structures, combined with unusually immediate (for ENSLAVED, at least) elements. The high level of energy in the songs reflects both an inspired and an ever-harder working band that keeps pushing their own and their associated genres’ limits ”.

The organization of Roadburn has posted the following message: “We're beyond excited to welcome seminal New Orleans, Louisana sluge-legends Eyehategod back to the 20th edition of Roadburn Festival at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands, with two sets of their unique, Southern hardcore-blues-sludge-and-doom on Thursday, April 9 at the main stage, and in Het Patronaat, Friday, April 10. With its hateful, hopeless, anguished vocals set against extra-slow Iommi-inspired riffing, Eyehategod are credited with founding sludge-core, one of the most vital new genres of metal to emerge from the 1990’s. Countless bands have followed their footsteps, and after more than 20 years of creating some of the most corrosive, vile music known to man, Eyehategod still hasn’t lost the piss and vinegar, propaganda, and despair that fueled them back in 1988”… “We’re equally excited to announce that Dutch prog rock legends Focus have been confirmed for Houses of the Holistic, Ivar Bjørnson‘s (Enslaved) and Wardruna's Einar “Kvitrafn” Selvik‘s curated Roadburn event on Friday, April 10 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands”.
