Who knew that Dave Mustaine (MEGADETH) could still be a friendly guy after he found god again? Well, hats off for him on this one: Sarah Churman, who was born deaf, became an Internet sensation when her husband posted a YouTube video of her hearing for the first time at 29 years of age. Now she is a huge MEGADETH fan, and the band's frontman, Dave Mustaine, flew her to Las Vegas to see MEGADETH perform this past Thursday (April 17). During a joint interview with Sarah ahead of the Las Vegas concert, Mustaine spoke to KTNV-TV about how the he and the rest of MEGADETH found out about Sarah's incredible journey and their decision to make it possible for her to experience her first rock show (see video below).
With all gossip flying around, it is best to check with the source itself and we can now tell you it is official: due to sudden bodily failure guitarist Malcom Young will not be a member of AC/DC during his recovery. An early May studio booking will stay scheduled and the band is not thinking of resigning. No official replacement for Malcom is announced yet, as there is no clear picture on whether or not he will recover and if so, how much time it will take him.
With KISS' surprisingly drama-free Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction now in the rear-view mirror, former KISS guitarist ACE FREHLEY reflects on the Rock Hall experience. Leading up to the induction, much was said about who should be included, who should play afterward and who did what to whom during the past four decades of Kisstory. But Frehley says that before appearing onstage, his former bandmates "were all very gracious and we got along famously. It's like we had never been apart and we're brothers in rock 'n' roll. The press builds this enigma that we hate each other and all that kind of insanity but it's really not true."
Following their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on April 10th, KISS frontman PAUL STANLEY took to Twitter and slammed Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame co-founder/Rolling Stone editor Jann Wenner in what has become an ongoing war of words: "Our treatment at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame confirmed my worst suspicions. Wenner and the rest are spineless weasels. We were great and Wenner remains a small man."
KREATOR will embark on a European headlining tour in November/December. Support on the trek will come from VADER, ARCH ENEMY and SODOM. Comments KREATOR guitarist/vocalist Mille Petrozza: "A lot of our European fans voiced their discontent over the fact that the band hardly does European club tours apart from our festival shows. In 2013, we were mainly busy playing for our fans overseas. We want to change this now. In time for the reissues of 'Endless Pain', 'Pleasure To Kill' and 'Extreme Aggression' in all kinds of formats finally on vinyl again too we'll end the 'Phantom Antichrist' tour cycle in Europe with a massive string of shows. This will be your last chance to see KREATOR live in clubs for quite a while, because we'll be busy working on a new album in 2015 and only play carefully selected shows. Right now we're working on a new multimedia stage show and we'll also have a bunch of surprises in the setlist. Our friends of ARCH ENEMY are part of the trek to present their new album, 'War Eternal', and so will VADER and our old companions SODOM. This tour will be KILLER!!!"
