Het nieuws van vorige week : (08 mei 2012) Members of QUEEN have vowed never to perform live alongside a Freddie Mercury hologram. The band everyone loves to hate (click Union Jack for ENG version) comments on fans' YouTube in another attempt to smash their negative reputation. Nickelback have taken another crack at trying to escape the label of world’s most hated band in a light-hearted YouTube clip where they comment on messages left on their music videos. It’s another charm offensive on the part of the Canadian four-piece after Black Keys drumer Patrick Carney (who?) recently said: "Rock’n'roll is dying because people became okay with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world." This time, responding to a fan who asks: "How the f--k can you be so epic?" frontman Kroeger responds: "We work on our epicness. We went to epic school. We graduated with honours. Ryan has his masters in epicness." If inclined, you can check it out here.
DEVILDRIVER have been forced to cancel their previously announced Australian tour with SIX FEET UNDER and DARKEST HOUR. Commented DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara: "I've NEVER cancelled a tour before. 7273 guitarists jammed together on Tuesday in the south eastern city of Wroclaw, Poland, notching up a new world record with a TRIBUTE TO JIMI HENDRIX. As tradition dictates, the guitarists played 'Hey Joe', one of Hendrix' best-loved, but least challenging numbers. All participants were registered and given IDs, with organisers approving electric, acoustic, classical and bass guitars. The bid to create the world's largest ensemble performance on guitar dates back to 2003, when 588 musicians riffed together on Wroclaw's Main Market Square.
