Dennis : In the past twenty years Bolt Thrower has always been a constant factor in the death metal scene. In these two decennia this band from the Birmingham area already released seven full length albums and 'Those Once Loyal' is their eight full length effort, which is due out on November 11. After an absence of ten years Bolt Thrower's old singer Karl Willets has returned to the nest and replaces Dave Ingram who left the band in 2003. Of course Willets could be heard on their 2000 album 'Mercenary', but he wasn't in the band permanently at that time. Anyway, I am sure that most Bolt Thrower fans will agree with me that it's great to have Willets fronting the Bolts again, with all respect to Ingram, who did a great job on 'Honour Valour, Pride' and their live shows. The new album 'Those Once Loyal' is everything the Bolt Thrower fan expects from their death metal war machine from Birmingham. The four gents plus lady treat us with nine brand new songs (plus a bonus on the limited edition digipack) in same style that could be heard on albums like 'Mercenary' and 'Honour, Valour, Pride'. Nobody expects a change from Bolt Thrower and rest assured, they won't. That is why this band has such a solid and dedicated fan base. 'Those Once Loyal' is a forty minute attack of heavy and groovy death metal. This is definitely another triumph for Bolt Thrower and for death metal in general. A release not to miss out on!
