Dennis : Man, I've just gotten over the sheer complex brutality of Spawn Of Possession's "Cabinet” CD, which was a mind-blowing technical death metal attack. If you think that release was freaky, then check out Germany's Necrophagist, the next conquerors of the technical death metal throne, and you'll be amazed. "Epitaph”, their second effort, simply redefines the term technical death metal. Necrophagist takes this music style to its' limits, by playing the most insane riffs, solos and sweeps, applying great songwriting and powerful death metal vocals. The music is technical and yet very melodic at the same time. I find a lot of other technical death metal CDs to be quite inaccessible. "Epitaph” however, is different from that, the music is quite easy to get into and the listener won't get lost by what's is going on on the record. Hell, these musicians are show offs, to put it mildly. They are good. And they know it, ha! If you are into technical shit such as Cynic, Atheist, Spawn of Possession, Gorguts, Cryptopsy or a band like Decapitated, then "Epitaph” should fit in your collection!
