Wim S. : Omicida is a band from England and they are playing old school thrash. That is probably not surprising, considering the fact that the band consists of members of Benediction (bassist Daniel Bate) and White Wizzard (guitarist Will Wallner and drummer Giovanni Durst). Those are the type of guys that do not have a problem with pace and with testing your neck muscles.
Yes, it is old-fashioned metal of the fastest kind, which will make you bang your head for sure. Up tempo riffs, raging (double bass)drums and strong (and intelligible) vocals by Giovanni Barbieri. Despite the fact that they are clearly influenced by their musical brothers from America (Slayer, Testament, Overkill) in one way or another you hear that this is an English band. Like you can also hear that with a band like Onslaught, for example. I like this kind of British metal. The sound is clear but loud, the songs are well composed and there is nothing wrong with the performance. These are experienced guests who know what to do and what is expected from them. And if someone like Ralph Patlan (Megadeth) interferes with the production, you know that it is good. And that is just what it is. There are no bad songs on this CD, but unfortunately there is also a song that stands head and shoulders above the other tracks. In short, just a nice album.
