Koen W. : Minus One was founded in 2009 as a cover band. They entered the real spotlights in 2016 when the band represented Cyprus with the song 'Alter Ego' at the Eurovision Song Contest. That resulted in a twenty-first place in the grand finale. Now since Lordi and the Hungarian AWS, a rock or hard rock band is not really unique in this contest, but still, Minus One became a bit more known because the band toured in many European countries as support with Glenn Hughes.

Time for an album. 'Red Black White' was recorded with the help of Soren Andersen and Thomas "Plec" Johansson. It is mainly a smooth album completely aimed at fans of AOR and rock. You immediately hear that with 'The Greatest'. A really catchy and radio friendly song. Singer Andreas Kapatais does his job excellent. Here and there are some tempo changes so everything continues to sound varied. A highlight is the title track 'Red Black White' in which Kapatais shows that he can also handle higher notes, and it all reminds me strongly of Muse. The modern production here and there provides some keyboards with modern gadgets such as the scratching on vocals during 'Take Me Away'. As a finish you get to hear a duet with a female guest singer, a tune that should easily bring ‘m back the Eurovison stages.
