Marcel H. : Azaghal… who doesn’t know this Finnish black metal band? Active for some twenty years now and in that time having release eleven full-length albums, including this latest one, and also seventeen splits and EPs and a couple of compilations and demos. Even though the band is clearly a busy bee the quality on offer has never suffered. Also ‘Valo Pohjoisesta’ is of the same high quality as before. As mad as a swarm horny hornets and as furious as a herd of runaway rhinos the band rages on. However, nowhere does the band lose sight of a subtle sense of melody. The guitar parts are once again finger licking good. The sparingly used solos are used in just the right places. See, that is how you can also employ solos. They don’t have to be all over the place in every single song.
