RebelHot - Uncomfortableness

Label : Metalapolis Records | Archive under hardrock / aor

Release type: Full-length CD

Cor : The band RebelHot has released the successor of their debut album, and the general idea is in the same line; a mix of southern blues rock and a bit of funk. Sometimes a name like Quireboys may come to mind. The pretty thin Stevie Ray Vaughn guitar sound is slightly less funky on this new album, which may make this more suitable for the more rock orientated listener, The bass is positioned more prominently in the mix, and sounds more “rounded”, adding to the whole picture and making the songs sound more varied and balanced. The debut album was quite alright, but a certain growing process can certainly be heard in for example less escapes to technical tricks as the Stevie Ray slide. The ballad ‘Love And Divine’ can even be seen as a small masterpiece; this could have been recorded by bands like Black Crowes or Aerosmith. A nice piece of work by a band in progression.
