Koen B. : ‘Burning The Blindfolds Of Bigots’ was already released on vinyl, CD and cassette in June 2017, but somehow took a while to enter the gates of our HQ and is reviewed a year later. Never mind, this one is fucking great! Warwound takes us back to the Eighties when albums such as ‘Ashes To Ashes’ (Final Conflict, 1987), ‘Troops Of Tomorrow’ (The Exploited, 1982) or ‘Under The Scalpel Blade’ (Disorder, 1984) could be found on my record player on a regular basis.
Warwound was originally founded in 1982 and went on hiatus in 1984. Original drummer Andy Baker and guitarist Damian Thompson formed Sacrilege later on (you might recognize them from 1987’s ‘Within The Prophecy’ of 1988’s ‘Turn Back Tribolite’ albums). Warwound reformed in 2015 to coincide with the ‘A Huge Black Cloud’ demo compilation. They also did a split CD with War // Plague last year. ‘Burning The Blindfolds Of Bigots’ is an all killer no filler release that will attract Eighties in your punk addicts.
