Marcel H. : Let’s get this right off the bat… ‘A National Day Of Mourning’ by Bodies On Everest is no easy listening session. Let me put it this way… it is an extremely hard listening session. The six songs that clock in at a total of a whopping 66 minutes are rife with noise, drone, psychedelia, sludge, trance, samples, experimentation on all sorts of levels. At times it comes across as movie score music, and then all of a sudden riffs can be discerned. But never does it get easy. As listener you need to give it your full attention at all times. So many things are going on, but not in a prog way. Nee, this is much harder to comprehend. After quite a few spins I am still not sure what to make of it all. However, it keep on intriguing me. Listen and judge for yourself.
