Dennis : With only two weeks to go until this years’ edition of Europe’s biggest heavy metal event Wacken Open Air in the North German village of Wacken, Silver Lining Music releases the Twin DVD & Twin CD 'Live at Wacken 2017 – 28 Years Louder Than Hell' on the 20th of July. Since 2006 it has become a tradition for the festival to release a DVD and CD with some of the highlights of the previous year to warm up for the coming edition of the festival.

This year’s 'Live at Wacken 2017 – 28 Years Louder Than Hell' contains 45 videoclips of 38 different bands that played Wacken Open Air 2017 and 29 audio clips on the CD. Bands like Kreator, Europe, Paradise Lost, Candlemass, Sacred Reich, Kadaver, Nile, Witchery, Napalm Death, Accept, Prong, Tankard, Max & Igor Cavalera, Heaven Shall Burn, Sonata Arctica or Avantasia are all represented with contributions, and many more. But maybe one of the most interesting recordings on this release is the recording of the 2017 Wacken Hymn, Motörhead’s cover version of David Bowie’s 'Heroes' sung by 60,000 Wackenites, which makes this release one of a kind, especially for all of those who were there. But even if you weren’t 'Live at Wacken 2017 – 28 Years Louder Than Hell' has a lot of interesting videos and music to offer and maybe if you’re not familiar with any of these 38 bands it’s a great way of getting to know more music. And I am sure one of the aims of this release is to show those that don’t know the festival what it’s all about and for those that were there, it’s a great souvenir of the four days of metal, mud, bratwurst and beers last year in the heavy metal capital of the world. So listen to these great performances of last year and get warmed up for this years’ edition: Wacken Open Air, Rain or Shine!
