Koen W. : Sendwood is a wonderful band that does not take itself too seriously, check out their Facebook page and you’ll see what I mean. Anyway, after a EP in 2017, their debut album now has been put out. They compare themselves a bit with the crazy antics of Mike Patton, the rage of Rage Against The Machine and straight to your face Royal Blood. Fun fact: the band only consists of two members: Alex McWood (drums and vocals) and Kriss W Wood (guitar and vocals). Their music is a hotchpotch of lots of different styles, but they have succeeded to mold everything into a nice whole. And that with a lot of variety. A piece of blues with a harmonica but also authentic rock 'n roll. And that is eagerly alternated with spicy pieces of metal. Think of the eager Foo Fighters during their early years or a Mike Patton.
Ten songs with a total playing time of 26 minutes is not really long. But the schwung is kept there. In any case, this is a nice debut of a band that is certainly worth discovering because of their no-nonsense attitude.
