Roel de Haan : ‘Per Antiquum Chaos Divina Animae Fides’ is the second album by the French black metallers of Fhoi Myore. Fhoi Myore plays black metal in the French way. Raw, aggressive, and full of bile and hatred. Raging, trebly riffs and raucous vocals accompanied by pummelling organic drums. The songs are elaborate but not overlong. The riffs are nicely sharp and cold and Fhoi Myore could be compared to acts like Hell Militia, Temple Of Baal and Merrimack, but with a more do-it-yourself approach. Of course Fhoi Myore isn’t to be considered to be original or groundbreaking, but it is clear they are not aiming to be that and just make black metal that suits them. Good on them. ‘Per Antiquum Chaos Divina Animae Fides’ is a decent and enjoyable French black metal album, but a new star hasn’t risen with this release.
