Henk : Do you think that in the eighties of the last century the best heavy metal was made? Then put on this second album by Evil-Lÿn entitled Disciple Of Steel. Before you know it, you're back in the eighties and you have that old denim jacket with band patches on again. From opener 'Survive The Night' to the atmospheric 'Valley Of The Dead', the band takes you on a nostalgic trip through everything that makes traditional metal so beautiful. Fast riffs, pounding drums and a singer who may be limited but has his metal heart in the right place. And yes of course it is not original. You hear Maiden, Saxon, Judas Priest and you can still name a few bands. But it does not matter. This is metal as it should be. Dirty, fast and melodic at the same time and what can you do against it? Scream and shout along with 'Hellfire' and throw your neck muscles and (if you still have it) hair loose!
