Destroyer Of Light - Hopeless

Label : Heavy Friends Records | Archive under doom metal

Release type: Mini-CD

Marcel H. : After 2017’s ‘Chamber Of Horrors’ Destroyer Of Light now releases the two-track ‘Hopeless’-EP. Two tacks that clock in at a total of just under eighteen minutes. And right off the bat… ‘Hopeless’ comes across a lot stronger to me than ‘Chamber Of Horrors’, which was extremely standard sludge that just didn’t manage to bite. On ‘Hopeless’ the sludge side of things has been mostly left behind and the vocals are clean, yet powerful, and at times remind me in the distance of Ozzy Osbourne mixed with the clean vocals of Conan. A band such as old Pallbearer can be discerned in Destroyer Of Light’s sound. All in all ‘Hopeless’ is a major step forwards in comparison to last year’s releases. So, do give it a try if you're into this kind of metal.
