Erik M. : This death metal horde from South Dakota kinda explain how metal things work, for this is how death metal should be played. If you let people like Tomas Skogsberg (Entombed, Dismember, Carnage, Grave, At The Gates) mix your album, it’s easy to understand where this band finds its origin. The forty minutes on this album create an instant ancient Earache / Peaceville goosebump. The ten tracks (including intro) know how to make the death metal heart beat faster, partly due to a heavy hankering towards the nineties vibe that dominates the album! Vocally we hear influences from previously mentioned bands and a combination between Patrick Mameli (Pestilence) and Chris Reifer (Autopsy). Blunt, heavy and very effective on this debut, shamelessly nostalgic and extremely brutal! ‘The Splendid Iniquity’ is a record will keep spinning for every true death metal fan. Great debut!
