Wim S. : I have been with Lords Of Metal for a while. You realize that if you have to review already the third CD of the Australian band Palace Of The King. Two years ago their album 'Valles Marineris' which I was quite enthusiastic about. The four gentlemen also delight us on this new album, 'Get Right With Your Maker', with their psychedelic blues rock. Again I have received a burned copy of the album; there is apparently no solid financial impulse behind this band. And that's a shame. Because as said; this is a good band and they play nice music.
The album opens really great with 'I Am The Storm' in which the second part seems to come from an album by The Doors. Oh my god, that sounds good. Nice and relaxed, that is how those guitars and that organ sound. 'Said The Spider To The Bird' sounds a bit more like for example The Black Crowes with that typical southern rock blues sound. You can do a bit of singing and a bit of headbanging while listening to the midtempo rocking 'Move Through The Fire' while 'The Serpent' mainly leans on the delicious riff of Sean Johnston. And so every song actually has something that can appeal to you, but without having you fly out of your seat in astonishment or enthusiasm. This is just a wonderful album of a nice rocking band. Keep up the good work boys.
