Roel de Haan : The French black metal group Abduction are ready to release their second full-length. The album entitled ‘A l'Heure Du Crépuscule’ picks up where their debut ‘Une Ombre Régit Les Ombres’ left off; melodic black metal with a pivotal role for clean vocals. In this respect they are quite reminiscent of their fellow Frenchmen of Orakle. However, Abduction are less progressive in their approach. That doesn’t mean that ‘A l'Heure Du Crépuscule’ is a standard black metal album. Abduction fills their epic songs with a great deal of variety. From clean vocals, acoustics guitars, tranquil element to aggressive outbursts and angry screams filled with hatred. The songs are complex and don’t share their secrets immediately, which keeps the album interesting even after several spins in a short time span. Far removed from the Deathspell Omega or Aosoth type of black metal that usually comes from France, it is refreshing to see a band forging their own path. If the idea of Orakle meets Belenos tickles your funny place, Abduction is your go to band.
