Bart M. : I had a lot of other things to do when I found this promo in my mailbox, but the whole format of the package looked so incredibly nice that I put the CD in my stereo anyhow. Maybe because I love latinas so much, maybe because it reminded me of The Dresden Dolls (a band I love so incredibly hard), or maybe because of the straight in your face garage rock image that this record promotes. This is a band that really doesn't give a rat's ass about what you think of them, and this is part of their charm! With every song they make right on their promise of "Fuzz Garage", every song sounds like it was made up on the spot, without any preparation. It sounds like it could have come out of any Quentin Tarantino movie, but then again it sounds like the soundtrack of a lovely romantic diner movie featuring hamburgers and Coca Cola. I mean that in the most positive way, all this album does is conjure up images of fabulous 70's rock bands. This is not metal, this is rock in its purest form, straight from the garage! I cannot imagine any kind of person having a negative disposition towards 'We Are The Courettes'. If you are looking for any kind of uncomplicated and lovely music, this is the album you're looking for.
