Wim S. : Jari Tiura is a Finish singer who releases his first solo album 'King Of Lions'. He currently sings in several bands, including Century Lost, but he especially flirts with the fact that he was the singer in the Michael Schenker Group. In the years 2006-2007 he was part of the band and his voice can be heard on the album 'Tales Of Rock And Roll'. A few years ago, Tiura and his good friend and producer Sami Ala-lahti started writing songs for a solo album; material that was a bit different from the work of the other bands in which he sings.

And like I said, now here is 'King Of Lions' and its released by AOR Heaven, a serious distributor. But to cut the crap and come straight to the point: what an incredible lousy album this is. That Tiura guy really sings like an onion. An onion with a hot potato in its mouth that is. Really terrible. Just listen how he completely kills songs like ‘Friends And Foes’ and ‘Silent Moon ‘(hahaha, that last scream, hilarious). You won’t believe how bad this is. Check out how he tries to hit the high notes in opener 'Away From All The Magic And Wonder' ... Isn’t there anyone around him who can say to him that he should not think he is still in the Michael Schenker Group? He is not Gary Barden, and we all know that Gary Barden was not a really talented singer. No, he's just a very, very, very, very mediocre singer and that's an understatement. The songs also have little to offer (a lot of AOR and hardrock clichés), but the instrumental performance is spotless; compliments for the (session?) musicians are therefore in place. Ignore this CD I would say.
