Henk : Fist is according to the stories one of the first bands from the NWOBHM. In the early eighties the band released two albums that are known to a small audience. The first album 'Turn The Hell On' even made it possible to tour with UFO, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Unfortunately, the LP did not do much and after a second LP entitled 'Back With A Vengeance' did not bring the real breakthrough in 1981, it went downhill with the band and in 1985 the plug went out. In 2005 there is suddenly another new album entitled 'Storm'. However, this album also did not make a breakthrough. In the meantime, in 2002 a complete overview had already been published on two CDs entitled 'Back With A Vengeance: The Anthology'.
This album now appears again in 2018 and one can wonder why. Still, it is a very decent hard rock album from a band that unfortunately did not make it in the early eighties due to various causes. There are a large number of songs that have not withstood the test of time but against a number who have certainly done so. Listen to 'The Feeling's Right' and 'Turn The Hell On' for example. Maybe it would have been better to release a single album with the best fifteen tracks instead of a double CD. The more than thirty that are now presented is just a little too much. For fans and collectors of the NWOBHM who do not know Fist yet, it is worth listening to this album. The band is back together and in 2018 new material will be released. Maybe this time the breakthrough will come, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
