William Pezy : I am following Visions Of Atlantis for about seventeen years now and I have seen them release some really good albums. Records that always had the ‘promise for the future’ in it. However it seemed to be a promise and not a promise that went fulfilled. The changes in the vocal line-up were the most significant reasons. However in 2013 this seemed to change. Singer Siegfried Samer joined up in 2013 to give to vocals a bit more balance. Then Clementine joined the band, she is not only breath taking beautiful, much more important is that she is a very good and well trained singer. You might know her from the period when she was singing with Serenity. These two were the missing elements and the band showed this on their 2016 EP with old songs played with the new band members. Clementine stole my heart singing ‘Winternight’ in great honour of Nicole Bogner. Then the waiting began and lasted till February 2018. But it was worth it! What a great album! It gets back to the roots of symphonic epic rock with progressive metal influences and great duets. ‘Return To Lemuria’ is a good example. The band is also very good when they slowdown in songs like ‘The Last Home’ and ‘Prayer To The Lost’. Clementine shows to be a true phenomenon and sings like an angel. With this album they are able to compete with bands like Nightwish and with singers like Anneke van Giersbergen. If this album is a promise of what to expect in 2018, it is going to be a great year.
