Koen W. : Mad Hatter was founded in 2017 by Petter Hjerpe and Alfred Fridhagen, and these two together recorded the complete album. That alone sounds quite impressive. After the recordings, Eroc Rauti and Magnus Skooh came along so that this material also can be played live. You could say that ‘Mad Hatter’ sounds a bit cliché. Nowhere do you hear something experimental or really inventive stuff. But does that really matter? Sharp riffs, excellent melodic guitar solos, keyboards that sometimes reinforce the guitar work but also provide a bombastic or epic touch. A fine voice of a singer who has quite a reach and a lot of polyphonic and sing-along choruses. And what is important, there are a lot of fantastic songs. Listen to work like 'The Gunslinger', 'Fly Away' or 'Vengeance In His Head'. Mad Hatter guarantees a wonderful album in the genre. This band awaits a bright future.
