William Kampen : Just when I started writing this review, I found out that guitarist/vocalist Advorsus is a member of Sadistic Intent. A band that I think of very highly. I was kind of shocked when I found out that a bandmember of such a powerhouse can release such a weak record. Yeah, straight forward as usual, but hey, it saves you a lot of time. You do not need to buy or listen to this record, unless you want confirmation of my review. Cultus Profano plays a traditional form of black metal in the vein of, you know, all of the eighty-thousand Darkthrone wannabe's. Chilling riffs, obscure production but extremely redundant.

When playing in the raw/underground spectrum of black metal, a lot of the quality depends on the atmosphere the band is able to create. I miss that a lot in this record. It is boring. Very boring. Cliche riffs, weak vocals; no impact. Nothing. That is what I find difficult about Debemur Morti as a label. It is a hit or miss all the time. Sometimes they release amazing records but more than often it is garbage you can ignore. Like this.
