Koen W. : Few bands have had such an extreme makeover as the German rockers Squealer. In 1984 they started as a classic power metal band. Now they sound like a modern metal band with melodic trash and rocking groove elements. Unfortunately, there is not much left of the original band. Yet they are currently in a very strong line-up and that is clearly reflected on this album. Squealer balances on the edge of melodic thrash metal and power metal with a solid US base. Highlight is vocalist Sebastian Werner. From solid and rough vocals he switches smoothly to clear and powerful vocals. Of course the rest of the band are no amateurs either. And of course there is excellent guitar work so you come across a strong album full of variation. For the finishing touch they worked with Ito Grabosch for the recording process, Roland Grapow (Helloween / Masterplan) for the final mix and Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Lordi, Him) for the mastering. Nothing was left to chance. And you can hear that very well.
