Marcel H. : Two years after L’Ultimo Sole Italy’s Godwatt returns with album number six. In comparison to 2016’s album nothing has changed. The band still plays rumbling stoner sung in Italian. The kind that listens away nicely but never sticks. Well executed but missing in the hooks department. Once again fun to spin once, but after that you’ll grab back to the greats of the genre, such as Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu. You know the names. The song that stands out on ‘Necropolis’ is short ditty ‘R.I.P.’ which is quite reminiscent of Black Sabbath’s ‘Planet Caravan’. But those two minutes aren’t enough to let the album have a lasting impression. Once again a dime-a-dozen album within an already overpopulated genre.
